Dutch top model Bette Franke is a true rock and roll star in the newest Fall Winnter 2013/14 lookbook for Mango. And we must say, if some of the looks you find familiar, it is most likely because of the quite visible Balmain style inspiration and Saint Laurent’s grunge rock style, from the latest collections of both designer houses we’ve just mentioned. Obviously, we do think Mango has done a pretty good job and it’s a very well known fact how high street brands find their inspiration from the selection of the best fashion trends out there and that inspiration usually comes from the high profiled designer collections. As I’ve just stated, I do love quite a few pieces from this Mango collection (the ones you see here are my personal faves) and I also think how the stylists have done an amazing job in mixing for an example plaid shirts with dresses and mini skirts worn with biker boots, but also metallic belts with denim. It’s precisely that grunge mix that will remind you of the Saint Laurent latest colllection by Hedi Slimane. The Spanish label has also found their inspiration in punk era with using quite a few leather jacket combos, but the part that mostly reminds us of Balmain are the oversize square shoulders and high waisted harem like pants, but quite cool part of the collection are the menswear inspired pinstriped suits as well. We look forward to hear from you and which look is your FAVE.
