Carine Roitfeld for MAC Cosmetics
I was researching some info today, and I’ve stumbled upon some ah-mazing images of young Carine Roitfeld, who, if you didn’t know, was a model herself, at the tender age of 16. And when you look at her daughter, Julia Rostein Roitfeld now, you will understand right away, from where Julia’s lovely looks, comes from. So, I’ve rounded up therefore, some of my fave images of Carine and added up a few new ones as well. And before I leave you, I just wanted to tell you a little bit more, about this fashion world’s darling and true style icon, who has been a muse to the fashion greats, such as Karl Lagerfeld and Tom Ford, to fashion photography icon himself, Mr Mario Testino. Plus, for some more interesting trivia, about Mrs Carine Roitfeld, she actually resigned from her position as Editor-in-chief of Paris Vogue in 2010 and the world was shocked. Many acted as if it was an absolute tragedy, but than, little later in 2011, she was already writing an amazing book Irreverent, that everybody in the fashion world, and around it, just loved (myself included). Irreverent actually showcases her career, by the time she left Vogue. And on the other interesting note, as I’ve mentioned earlier, Roitfeld began her career as a model, before becoming a stylist, writer, editor and designer’s muse and right after she left french Vogue, she was succeeded by the former Fashion Editor of french Vogue, still very special and pretty stylish, Ms Emmanuelle Alt, whom Roitfeld hired, back in the year 2000.

And just as the world thought what more could Roitfeld do, she launched her very own fashion magazine, CR Fashion Book, in 2012. Magazine appears twice a year, under the pretty significant name of CR Fashion Book, while it is edited by the Fashion Media Group LLC. It is distributed in the US, Europe and Asia. While the high-end fashion houses such as Armani, Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton were among the first advertisers, who have joined immediately, to show their advertising support and have appeared among impressive pages of the 1st issue, for which everyone was waiting for. Not to mention how the debut issue had a total of an impressive 288 pages, with 100 of them being dedicated to marketing and promotion. Magazine also features long-format articles, which are running in parallel mode with a corresponding website, containing shorter pieces from the already successful mag.
