40 Imago Mundi Collections In Trieste

The art of Imago Mundi has come to Trieste, like a Ulysses ship that unites the people and countries, ideas and the religions. The imaginative realities of the Mediterranean, the diverse culture of the Balkans, the Nordic inspirations of the Central Europe, the legends of the beautiful blue Danube river, the spiced colors of the Middle East: all of that represents a glimpse of the world, that only art can provide through the creative gestures of  some thousands of artists, brought together in the ample and large exhibition Join the Dots/Unire le distanze, which showcases 40 Imago Mundi collections. An unprecedented itinerary of sea and the land, captivating and colorful, passionate and at times heart rending, that can be viewed at the Salone degli Incanti, starting from May 29th and lasting up to 2nd of September 2018.

In the Trieste exhibition each collection leads a dialogue with the others, proposing a connotation of exchange: of poetry,  different styles, techniques and ideas that cross over boundaries and create the connections.

Through the 40 Imago Mundi collections from 38 different countries, and works of art from 6354 artists, the viewer can “join the dots”, bridge the distances, discover travelling as an adventure in the world, as an exploration of different cultures and identities and, at the same time, as an intimate reflection in one’s own inner space. Because Join the Dots/Unire le distanze is an exhibition that comes from the contemporary passions of Luciano Benetton for art and travel. And, also, from Gauguin’s inscription on his 1897 masterpiece “Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?”, a fervent and obsessive meditation on the meaning of the most important human journey, that we call life.

The Fashion Obsession suggests for you to save the date this summer, especially if you will be spending a summer holiday on the Adriatic Coast, and make a little trip to Trieste, Italy, to discover this inspiring exhibition.
